Our Founder
Caryl Lucas is a certified Life Coach, Youth Specialist, Trainer and Entrepreneur who founded Coach on Call in January 2013. A former news reporter for The Star-Ledger Newspaper, Coach Caryl is a highly energetic motivator who now helping youth and young adults reinvent their lives and rewrite their stories. As part of her mission, she mentors and uplifts at-risk students and nontraditional employees with her compassion and hands-on coaching to increase their self-esteem and self-worth.
Coach Caryl Lucas is a graduate of Rutgers University Entrepreneurship Pioneers Initiative – Rutgers Business School, Newark, New Jersey. She is the author of four books and the creator of the Coach on Call job readiness and life skills curriculum. A sough after trainer, Coach Caryl provides trainings and keynotes for youths, conferences, Workforce organizations, school districts, colleges and corporations. Her speaking topics include, “Are you Poppin’ as in Job Ready?”.
Trainer & Author
Coach on Call is proud to have Charles Dixon, a highly-regarded professional with over twenty years of experience in public health organization, male mentoring, community relations and leadership on this dedicated team. An advocate for individuals, families and youth, Charles Dixon is the former director of the Young Father’s Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Over the years, he has created and facilitated programs and trainings to help youth and adults through challenges and adversities.
Charles Dixon also has been instrumental in assisting hundreds of young fathers and youth with mentoring, employment training, life skills and resources to find employment and to continue their education. Today, he facilitates career development and life skills classes for Coach on Call and students in the Essex County WIOA Youth Resource Program. Coach Charles also serves as a facilitator of the after-school program at the Paterson Community Charter School in Paterson New Jersey.
Charles is also the founder of the Family Intervention & Training (FIT) Enterprises Inc. and author of Arise: From Beneath the Rubble. Dixon’s company is designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of students and families through education/training, counseling, career & economic development, cultural & arts education.
TRAINER
Louise Bryant is a Youth Trainer and Career Development Facilitator for Coach on Call’s Youth Trainings. She provides workshops and hands-on workforce trainings on job searches, Microsoft, Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications.
Coach on Call is proud to welcome Louise Bryant, a dynamic tutor and business/marketing mentor to the team, where she serves as the Soft Skills expert and assists youth how to polish up their acts and marketability. She is the COO and Vice President of Human Interaction Experience and creates problem solving initiatives and life skills lessons for Coach on Call. Coach Louise, a longtime track and field coach, has served as a tutor and trainer at Westwood College in Atlanta before joining Coach on Call.
She is committed to mentoring youth and providing them with discipline and focus to reach their educational and career goals. Coach Bryant has served as the track and field coach at Westland High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Today she brings her strategic corporate and marketing expertise to Coach on Call’s youth trainings, aimed at helping youth with their educational and career exploration. Over the years, Coach Bryant has worked as a project manager and marketing expert for Lucent and AT&T.
Administrative Assistant
Coach on Call is proud to welcome Claudia Hammonds to our team. She possesses over a decade of professional experience and expertise as an Executive Senior Administrative Assistant working for mid-level and senior level executives and managers in several industries including post-secondary education, businesses and healthcare entities.
Ever passionate about youth development and education, Claudia brings her leadership and project management skills to Coach on Call’s training and mentoring program.
Throughout her career, she has acquired the skills to execute complex assignments, efficiently and will oversee Coach on Call’s new strategic plans. Moreover, she is a forward thinker and an exceptional team-player with a commitment to excellence and our youth.
Najee Shabazz believes that every youth deserves an opportunity to WIN and fulfill their greatest potential. He is a walking example of courage defying all the odds that became his building blocks. Coach on Call is proud to have Male Mentor and Youth Speaker Najee Shabazz on the dedicated team.
He is a graduate of the Essex County WIOA Youth Resource Program and strives to share his story of perseverance and journey to inspire other youth on the journey of self-discovery.
The 19-year-old is committed to empowering at-risk youth and adults plagued by a lack of access to education, healthcare and employment. Today, Najee credits his family and faith for helping to turn his life around.
